This valentine’s

This valentine’s

Hi there! Yes, it’s Pat, sending my Aloha from New York City! Gosh, it’s hard to believe we’re into a new decade! I hope the holiday season was everything you wanted it to be.

My sister Joy and I

Three years ago on January 22nd, the world was dimmed a bit by the loss of Joy Labez, my beloved sister and friend to so many, who lit up lives wherever she went. I had the great honor of being by her side as she bravely defied the odds with what she called “the C-fairy” challenge — cancer. While only given three months to live in 2012, she continually amazed everyone with her positivity and valiant fight for over four years.

Since then, health challenges continued with family, friends, and myself. While I envisioned returning to my old life of health and human services administration, I quickly realized that my priorities had to remain close to home and being readily available to address the many health surprises that seem to constantly pop up unexpectedly.

Screening of Howard at the Soho International Film Festival

Equally and spiritually important turned out to be the re-discovery of theatre, film & entertainment that led to acting in three short films, a role on CBS-TV’s Blue Bloods, two cabaret shows in New York City with fellow Asian artists, and producing the award-winning short film, Howard, which was greatly inspired by Joy. Additional projects are underway, keeping me busy and on the road.

In my quest to find that balance between work, family, health, and simply “finding joy in the journey,” I have become increasingly impassioned in sharing this latest breakthrough technology that has helped countless people achieve greater health and quality of life. After being turned down for life insurance and opting not to have a recommended surgery, I chose this road less traveled. Happy to report that I was recently cleared of any further MRI check-ups! Yes, the zeal for life simply can’t be contained and keeping it to myself just doesn’t seem right, so here I am!

You are receiving this newsletter because I care about you and have decided it was time that I share this good news, and I believe launching this newsletter will help us stay connected. We can, in fact, take control of our health by being open to the possibilities. After spending years in healthcare advocacy, this new path has truly enhanced my personal fulfillment. I’m here to help in any way possible. Let’s have a happy, healthy, joyous, prosperous 2020, and a beautiful Valentine’s Day!
